All favourite

This year Yamaha celebrates ten years of the R-Series – that’s a decade of supersport dominance. When we unleashed the very first YZF-R1 in 1998 the bike didn’t just rewrite the rules for supersport performance, it tore them up and wrote its own. Since then the YZF-R1 and the YZF-R6 have kept evolving, always using the latest track tech to stay ahead of the pack.

Yamaha YZF-R1 the no.1 most popular and most selling sport bike in the world. Yamaha had been working hard in upgrading and improving YZF-R1 since 1998 until now. the results of their hard working is the result that we can see nowadays. Credits to Yamaha for creating and developing the modern motorbikes and surely it will be grateful for their fan worldwide.

The appearance

When you on this bike, people will sure will not miss a single second to look to the beauty of this bike. Riding a huge bike is not as same as riding a luxury or expensive car, the feeling and proud of riding huge motorbikes is totally different. The look of the R1 is just killer, the swoopy bodywork, underseat exhaust layout, frame and swingarm are something the other bikes come up woefully short on in the appearance department.

The colours are also have interesting combination:

Raven/Candy Red, Pearl White/Rapid Red, Cadmium Yellow and Team Yamaha Blue/White in US; Competition White, Yamaha Blue and Midnight Black in Europe.

What this bike can do?

Yamaha YZF-R1 can obtain max speed about 186 mph (300Km/h). It is interesting surely for those who love speed and want to try it on a highway. With the new Crossplane technology, first pioneered in MotoGP racing with the M1, puts each connecting rod 90° from the next, with an uneven firing interval of 270°- 180°- 90°- 180°. This all but eliminates undesirable inertial crankshaft torque, which allows the engine’s compression torque to build smoothly and provide a very linear power delivery out of the corners. It’s a feeling that’s simply unmatched, like having two engines in one: (the low-rpm torquey feel of a twin with the raw, high-rpm power of an inline 4). In fact, the new YZF-R1 is not a continuation of existing supersport development, it is breakthrough technology that represents a paradigm shift in both technology and performance.

with high speed sure it must come with high safety. Yamaha added bonus to overall handling and safety, this is the first year Yamaha developers included an electronic steering damper on a production R1. this is to ensure that it is safe when the rider is on a max speed and when conering.

Valentino Rossi thought on Yamaha YZF-R1:

"Through the fully adjustable suspension I can feel every movement from the grippy Pirelli Corsa tyres. A few times I went sideways but all I needed to do was to keep feeding the fly-by-wire throttle until the Pirelli’s found grip on the very slippery tarmac I spent much time on. It was so slippery one day on the motorway that the rear wheel started spinning up in sixth gear! That’s not everyday stuff and tells a tale both about how slippery it was but also about how powerful the new R1 is".
